Takemusu
Aikido West Midlands was founded by Ama Mann and practices Iwama Ryu
style of Aikido as taught by O'Sensei at his Ibaraki dojo in the Iwama
prefecture of Japan.
Our principal teacher is Patricia Hendricks sensei 6th Dan (Head of Division 1 California Aikido Association, San Leandro, California, USA). Sensei Hendricks is a renown international teacher and travels to the UK and Europe on a regular basis, she is a direct pupil of Saito Sensei 9th Dan Iwama Ryu. Takemusu Aikido West Midlands is affiliated with and supported by our UK technical teacher, John Gorzanski of Takemusu Aikido Salisbury Iwama Ryu Aikido was formulated by Morihiro Saito sensei who dedicated his life to preserving the aikido taught by O'Sensei. Saito sensei systemised the Tai-Jutsu (Body Techniques) and weapons techniques of Jo, Bokken and Tanto for which the Iwama style is well known. Takemusu Aikido West Midlands on Facebook |
